The concept of the SOD unit was developed in part because this agency recognized the need to field highly trained professionals instead of a large number of basically untrained civilians wearing uniforms which is the old concept of the basic security officer. Through this unit we were able to provide security for some of the largest and most demanding public venues in the World. The challenge was to do it and still remain cost effective. What INTERCEPT did in many cases was utilize the same budget, downsize the security force and utilize SOD officers to provide services. This has been the secret behind our success. One specially trained and equipped SOD officer could do what before took four or five basic security officers.

TRAINING

Our Special Operations Division is comprised of highly trained security personnel. The minimum amount of training they receive is documented below.
	Hand to Hand Combat Anti-terrorist Training (ATO) certified Firearms safety and proficiency Public relations & Communication skills First responder emergency certification Chemical weapons certified SOD Certified

Because this is their chosen career our turn over ratio is low. This allows the client to become familiar with your security officer(s).

In addition INTERCEPT provides round the clock roving supervisors who oversee the security force and assure they are conducting their duties in compliance with our rules and regulations as well as yours. These supervisors are also available in the event you require their services or expertise.

Even the Special Operations Division (SOD) uniform is unlike any other uniform; it is designed to convey authority and professionalism. All our security officers have advanced training, are professional, courteous and have the confidence it takes to do the job. This is not a second job. This is a career. To the officers of the SOD their first priority is their job and they take their job very seriously.

INTERCEPT is the official security agency for this premier event since its inception in 1995 fielding over 170 SOD security personnel and 14 executive protection specialists.
